Cottage Inn in Louisville

This place USED to be amazing. We have been eating here for years. Now (under new management apparently) the place is constantly out of food. They run out of their main entree’s very fast as if they cannot prepare enough food (were completely out at 6 o’clock) Tried to call in a carry out (because service has gone way down hill) and now I am told that due to new management they cant do kids meals to go anymore? Idk whats up with the new management but it has gone down hill. Suggest only carry out if they even have the food you want.

I live pretty close to the Cottage Inn and it is always the number one option when I go out for dinner. The prices are unbeatable for the amount of food you’re getting. The fried chicken is highly under-appreciated and the dessert display is practically begging you to try a slice. I’ve never left unsatisfied even when I try new dishes every few visits. Whatever they’re doing back there in the kitchen, they’re doing it right.

Love the fried green tomatoes. Specials were lasagna and ckn fried ckn. Both delicious. Fair prices for wonderful food. With good service.

Girlfriend suggested this little place for something we haven't eaten yet or something we haven't had in a while. I was amazed with this little mom and pop family restaurant. prices were very fair for portion size, the sweet tea is perfectly sweet and the desserts are amazing! We will be going back here.

Small neighborhood restaurant with very friendly service. Food was very delicious. Brought me back to the time when I was a kid. And my grandmother use to cook for me. Made from scratch home cooking. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. I will be back soon.

The food was great, if you were in a hospital and all you ate was jello and apple juice. The food was that, hospital food. The country fried steak did not taste like beef. They home cook their own sides but the entrees are all microwaved

The food here is like eating at grandma's house. Very cozy (about 16 tables), efficient service, and delicious down home southern style cooking. I had the chicken fried steak that was thick and juicy and so tender you could cut it with a fork. The mashed potatoes and brown gravy were obviously made from scratch and amazing. This place is soo worth driving off the beaten path!!!! Can't wait to come back and try their peach cobler.

This place is good if you like the country Cuisine lots of fried food some bland vegetables and the semi disinterest of older board not paid well enough waitresses. Only been there once I would not go back. Food was fine but I found it to be too bland for my tastes. I'd say that the client tell in this place we're probably more 60 and older and I think I was just too young to enjoy it.

We ate here today for the first time. I had the fried chicken it was excellent. We will definitely be back.

My wife and I ate at the Cottage Inn tonight, and I could not have enjoyed it more. The food was excellent well cooked and perfectly seasoned. The dessert was dreamy, it was a homemade peach cobbler, and it was wonderful.One of the things that made the dinner even better, was our server Jennifer. Her great attitude, friendliness, and sometimes sarcastic wit kept us laughing and looking forward to our next interaction.We really enjoyed this place and recommend it, and will be going back again.

While in Louisville Kentucky on vacation, we decided we wanted to sample some local food. Our friends that we were there visiting took us to this place for dinner. The special today was Meatloaf oh, and I had it. It was excellent! My wife had the hot brown sandwich which was the local food choice. Then for dessert we both had a slice of Derby pie. Another local favorite. This was an excellent place to come to food was outstanding and service was without question the best that we've had in a long time. So if you're in Louisville Kentucky definitely come to the cottage. You won't regret it....

I visited less than an hour before closing and was warmly greeted and served hot food that was delicious!

Ate there for the first time on Halloween. The staff was friendly and the food was good. We were surprised at how many selections were on the menu for such a small place. We were all pleased with our food.

A delightful dining experience. An amazing menu of well prepared traditional Southern entrees and appetizers. My baby beef liver, onions and brown gravy was delicious as was the fried Okra appetizer. The side dishes made me remember my Mother's cooking. The corn muffin was as sweet as a cake. BlackBerry cobbler for dessert completed a meal to remember and cherish.

We stumbled across the Cottage Inn while visiting Louisville. I've got to say, it was a great find! Simple, down-home menu but very tasty and fairly priced. The decor was very cozy and inviting and the service was great. We'll definitely come back soon!

Great place for home cookin! Fried chicken was awesome. Mashed potatoes and northern beans were fresh and flavorful. Fried okra app was a very large portion. Ended up too full for desert!

The food I ordered came out in a timely manner, even though the place was rather busy. Everything tasted great! The only "bad" comments I would make are that the parking is little to none, so you will have to find street parking usually. Also, it's rather small inside, so if you're going in a big group maybe call ahead of time to see how long of a wait it would be or if they can accommodate your party.

Quick service and home cooked food served in a cute little house nestled away on Eastern Parkway. We had chicken harvest soup and a side salad. My kiddo had the chicken tender meal with mashed potatoes and gravy. We topped it off with a slice of double layered caramel cake.

I loved this quiet little restaurant. Everything was clean, quiet and relaxed. A great place for lunch with friends or family or even a romantic evening. The food was good, worth the money but nothing overly exciting. I would gladly go back if I ever find myself back in Louisville.

Food was delicious! Paul, our server was super attentive and polite. The place was packed and there was a line way around the building. Took a long time to finish each step, i.e. get a box, get the bill, pay the bill. I believe it was because they only had a few servers and were trying to do the work of several more. Worth the wait!!

Wonderful fried chicken. I have heard the best in Louisville. Wonderful customer service, they kept the kitchen open for us foreigners, and real friendly service.Chicken was great with a few side dishes all under $10. Home style cooking, how can you go wrong.

Everything I got was delicious, except for the canned spinach!!! It was terrible! The 🍎 cobbler was REAL cobbler! It was crust and fruit 😋, AND the apples we're cooked! The liver and onions we're so close to mine, it was unreal! Although you can't cut it with plastic utensils!

OMG!! If you love home cooked food you will love Cottage Inn I had country fried steak REAL mashed potatoes they had fried pork chops. Meatloaf as weekly special. The portions are huge they have chili and you should see the large bowl it was served in . I'm definitely going back for pork chops.

What a cozy dinner spot offering the best the South has to offer! Get there early before they run out of sides and save room for the lovely desserts. We plan on being back before the months end!
